Junyuan (Betty) Xiong is a multifaceted visual artist hailing from China, whose creative expertise spans scenic design, illustration, and visual design. Her artistic journey began at School of Visual Arts in New York, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Illustrations. This foundation in visual storytelling laid the groundwork for her current pursuit: graduate studies in scenic design at the University of California, Irvine.

Betty’s unique approach to theatrical design is characterized by blending her illustration background with the three-dimensional world of stage production. This innovative fusion brings vitality and depth to her work, infusing stage design with rich visual storytelling and emotional power.

Her theatrical career took off with her stage and co-production design for the musical The Prom at UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor Theater. This debut showcased her ability to transform concepts into stage environments. She has contributed her talents to productions at such renowned venues as South Coast Rep, Center Theater Group, Irvine Barclay Theater, and Gatty Villa.
